Spring is here and so is allergy season! Here are some tips to help ease your suffering and if these don't help.....please call and make an appointment to see a provider at Student Health Services.
- Try to limit your time outdoors.
- Keep windows closed if possible.
- Shower or rinse off at the end of the day (including your hair), before going to bed. This will help prevent you getting pollen on your pillow and sheets.
- There are multiple over the counter allergy medicines that can be used. Some of the oral ones are loratadine (Claritin), cetirizine (Zyrtec), fexofenadine (Allegra) and diphenhydramine (benadryl). Check the labels for side effects and dosing schedules. Fluticasone nasal spray (Flonase or Nasonex) is also very helpful.
