Eye discomfort, redness or discharge from your eyes can be symptoms of conjunctivitis aka "pink eye". If you have these symptoms AND you wear contacts, you need to remove your contacts immediately. Contact lens wearers should always have a pair of glasses available in case they need to not wear their contacts for a few days. Viral or bacterial conjunctivitis can be highly contagious and spreads easily from person to person. If you have these symptoms, avoid touching your eyes and if you do, wash your hands immediately. Conjunctivitis can be caused by allergies, bacterial or viral infections and even chemicals.If you have any of these symptoms, please call Student Health Services to be evaluated.

If you have eye PAIN, this should be checked as soon as possible.  Eye pain can be due to many different reasons and most of them need treatment.
