At some point, everyone has had a headache.  Headache is the most common type of pain.  The most common cause of a headache is tension in the muscles of your shoulders, neck, scalp or jaw.  These are muscle tension headaches.  Not every headache requires medical attention.  Most will be relieved with rest, over the counter medications such as Tylenol or Ibuprofen and gentle stretching of your neck and shoulders.

Sometimes headaches can be a warning sign of something serious. Seek medical attention right away if your headache follows a blow to the head, is accompanied by a stiff neck, fever, a change in vision, confusion or pain in your eye or ear.
