These can be symptoms of depression. Depression/sadness/loneliness is not uncommon when you are adjusting to new environments.  It can happen even when you have no previous history of depression.   College can be stressful as you make new friends, adjust to a more demanding work load and try to find the space where you are comfortable. If you have any of these symptoms, please call the Counseling Center or Student Health Services to talk with someone.  Call the Counseling Center at 202-319-5765 or Student Health Services at 202-319-5744 if you feel that you or anyone you know are at risk of harming themselves.
